Shorts Days are Numbered

Beautful sunny day out, the rain has let up the last few days and fall weather is here. No termination dust yet. You know it has to be on the nearest mountains, and they are still sporting bits of last year's snow tucked away in pockets, but no new...

Probably froze up there last night, and will again. In the meantime, not having time (or the knees) to go up again, Charles contented himself with sitting in the sunny backyard, drawing tiny pictures.

Bori and I climbed up behind O'Malley Peak, to the "ballfield." After 30 years of going up there, it is finally starting to seem a little crowded. We even saw a biker careering down the trail. It's probably about a 30 degree slope, and not used to MTBs.

Bori zeroes in on the blueberries like a truffle pig...

A Sad Day

Yesterday, while my husband took one of the huskies for a four hour walk, I disassembled the garden for the year. The rain had screwed everything up for everyone. My poor broccoli...

I was about to give up on the carrots, the dirt had packed around them so because of the rain, but I poped a few out, and they are like candy.

And the rainbow chard continually promised an end to the lousy weather.
